What about "don't do runs"?

Also note that in this case it's the runner who could be easily scammed. Problematic indeed.

p.s. Hi Inde.

Easy to say but running people is a main source of gold for many players, especially those who don't like to go into DoA, FoW or UW every day.

Well what else would you suggest to prevent scamming? Also, there are numerous ways to earn income. Running is just one of the (riskier) methods of doing so.

I guess my point is, in the most negative fashion: "Too bad". There's always the risk of getting scammed, and I don't think one should complain because it happens to them. While I do sympathize with those who are scammed, they went ahead well aware of what could happen.

Indeed but then that's why our guild started up a list of scammers. I know the reasons why not to have one but it has helped us in the past.

It's dumb to complain about both yourself and the runner. It's over 2k, it's farming, and technically anyone can do it. Anet doesn't care about who is getting scammed in the game because CoF was never meant to be farmed by a you and a hero monk so really no one is going to win.

I could see this being a problem as you could get a group of guildies in town and leave one spot open, invite someone to sell and if they dont do what you want /report=bad.

I see what you are saying Rahja but I also think you should get over it. If you and 6+ other people knew him as a scammer, know him well enough to know hes German player, you prob knew well enough he was bad news. I got scammed once 2+ years ago and i could troll his name out to this day. Fact is, he actually made me a better player by showing me what to look out for.And second i got over it.

Well after many closed treads about a /report for scammers/griefing.

I like the idea of one of two things 1= make a /votekick where 75% has to

/votekick to kick a person from the party or 2= have a system like the

leecher where you can see if they do it alot so you wont take them in your

party. with both these ideas anet wont have to do anything and we would be

the ones to control the problems

I am really surprised this thread is seeing the light of day. Oh well, doesn't matter much. /shrug. They won't do anything regarding this issue, so I don't know why I bother.

I had this great little gift basket I was going to send out for the 3rd anniversary. I was still going to send it even after being un-rightfully banned for "ebaying gold" I did no such thing. Gaile said she would look into the issue for me. After sending her an email pouring my heart out about the whole issue and how I was deeply concerned about PlayNC's You are Guilty Until still Proven Guilty attitude. She replied. After about a week, I hadn't heard a single word. I emailed her yet again, and have tried on 3 occasions to PM her playing account in game regarding any followup she had to share with me. She had completely ignored me. So, I am regretfully not sending that basket. I do not support people who portray a false public persona and are just walking fakes. As far as I am concerned, Gaile has outrightly lied to me. She made false promises, and didn't even respond. Her new position as support liason should put her in some stance to at least be able to respond other then a "Oh, I believe you, but this is really just to get your hopes and make you feel happy until I crush your hopes and never reply back to you because I am too important and don't have the time to deal with such petty things and unimportant people like you, ok bye now." email. I am deeply disturbed by the recent chain of events, and actually hurt. It could just be backwash from the stuff I am going through in RL atm, but this type of treatment certainly doesn't help matters.

Regretfully, I feel that ArenaNet is becoming more corporate-like with each passing day. As their game became steadily more popular, their connection with the community has dwindled. Honestly, I held out some hope that we would see some kind of change with the recent shuffling going on internally with their positions, but if anything, things have become worse.

Rather then hum-hah over this, and belittle others, etc, I am just going to roll with the punches. My support will continue, and I will accept being treated as Sale#591325667 and not Connor, or Rahja. I am content with being just another $ in their pocket, with no real voice and no substantial sway in decision making. It really disappoints me to say this, because I have always been such a strong supporter of Arena Net in all the things they do, and the only reason I post such things is because I genuinely care about their company and the product they make. Guild Wars isn't just a game to me, it is MY game. I feel very betrayed recent, and needless to say.... sad. Alas, that doesn't matter. I will go on playing, and I will buy GW2. I will support Arena Net no matter what changes may come, but my care for them is almost all but gone, and that is very disappointing that I have had to harden a shield to their nonchalant attitude to dealing with any issue.
